It&#8217;s known for its peaceful creekside setting, access to hiking and trout fishing, and a mix of tent and small RV campsites that provide a rustic mountain camping experience.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"xtvnl1\" data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"349\">Highlights<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"743\">The campground sits at roughly 2,000 feet in elevation along Curtis Creek, surrounded by mature hardwood forest and old-growth areas. A gravel road connects the campground to the Blue Ridge Parkway, making it a convenient base for exploring the surrounding mountains. The area also preserves remnants of a historic Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"743\">\n<p data-start=\"745\" data-end=\"798\">There are\u00a0<strong data-start=\"755\" data-end=\"771\">24 campsites<\/strong>\u00a0spread across three loops:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"969\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1ctdfiq\" data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"893\">\n<p data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"893\">A loop with accessible sites that can accommodate RVs up to about\u00a0<strong data-start=\"868\" data-end=\"879\">35 feet<\/strong>\u00a0(no hookups).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"c1o4et\" data-start=\"894\" data-end=\"942\">\n<p data-start=\"896\" data-end=\"942\">A loop with more secluded roadside tent sites.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"m0g2ec\" data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"969\">\n<p data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"969\">A grassy tent-only loop.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1215\">Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, and lantern post.
