Appalachian Mountain Brewery Outpost & Kitchen

Located on the lower level of the Modern Alchemist Co. building—a historic former sock factory—the Appalachian Mountain Brewing (AMB) Outpost & Kitchen in Old Fort is a relaxed, community-driven gathering spot. It features 12 rotating taps of Appalachian-inspired beer and cider, elevated Southern pub fare, regular weekly programming, and a dog-friendly vibe that makes it the perfect post-hike or post-ride pit stop near Pisgah.

Also on-site is Modern Alchemist Distillery is a craft distillery founded by the creators of Appalachian Mountain Brewery. The Distillery is home to handcrafted spirits and hosts free tours and tastings every Friday at 3 PM, along with special event rentals, one-off dinners, and unique events throughout the year. They offer their spirits for sale to-go and offer THC beverages in-store and online.
